AmeriCares is a nonprofit organization for disaster relief and humanitarian aid. It responds with emergency medical assistance and long-term humanitarian programs for people around the world. Their largest program is their Global Medical Assistance program, which provides medicines, medical supplies and other relief to hospitals, clinics and community health programs in over 40 countries, including the United States.

They also have an emergency response team that delivers urgent relief to survivors of disasters globally and domestically. They have a Medical Outreach Program that donates medical products to U.S. based health care professionals who travel overseas to help those in need. They also have Free Clinics to provide medical coverage to the uninsured in Connecticut.
