On 1955, Walt Disney and Meredith Willson started Big Brothers of Greater Los Angeles. The Big Sister program was then founded in 1972.  On July 1 of 2001, the two agencies merged and formed the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Los Angles and the Inland Empire.  Today, this chapter is one of the largest affiliates of the Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.
